Short Selling by schizmatic
Short Selling
TV manufacturers are pushing their "4K" screens, even though there's hardly any content for it; and unless you're sitting under eight feet away from your 60" TV, your human eyes can't physically distinguish any difference from regular HD.

But what's really sneaky is that calling their screens 4K doesn't even make sense. Their resolution is actually UHD 3840×2160, not the genuine 4K standard of 4096×2160.

Not to mention, HD screens are historically categorized by their vertical resolution -- 1080 for regular HD -- but suddenly, TV manufacturers are switching to the larger horizontal resolution number for 4K, which should more accurately be called "2K UHDTV."

Or even more accurately, "2K WTF.LMAO.BS.UHDTV."

Real-World Application by schizmatic
Real-World Application
MIT won't tolerate any of that nepotistic list-assignment scoring or corrupt re-rolling and points-purchasing systems. But rumor is, if you roll an 18 Intelligence, you can practically be at the bottom of the class in Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Wisdom, and Charisma and STILL get in.

I find that a good general rule is to never engage in sharing when food is both going in you and out of you at the same time. Also, to never have food both going in you and out of you at the same time.

The Flaming Of The Library Of Wikipedia by schizmatic
The Flaming Of The Library Of Wikipedia
It'd be a shame if Wikipedia had to start relying on advertising to keep running. Encyclopaedia Britannica would probably make itself the main sponsor and require its Wikipedia entry to say, "Encyclopaedia Britannica is SUPER way better than Wikipedia."

So, I've been spamtastically posting five strips a day to catch up with a backlog I had, and to avoid potential weirdness like people wondering why I'm still doing comic strips about the Olympics at the end of September:

"Wow, did he just get around to watching it on his DVR?  It must've been tough avoiding all the Michael Phelps spoilers everywhere..."

But now I can slow it down to posting a strip a day, and eventually settle in to four a week.  Though, I have to admit, speed-watching the Olympics on DVR fast-forward does sound pretty interesting: the marathon would become a long-distance sprint, and the 100-meter dash a race of superheroes.

Still, even in normal speed, Usain Bolt might be able to give the Flash a run for his money.

Schizmatic is a webcomic of intelligent weirdness based on blueprint schematics applied to actual life. It puts the cosmos under a microscope, and reality under analysis -- goodness knows it needs it.
