One problem with using the Cosmic Calendar is that as we date the beginning of the universe with greater and greater accuracy, we'd have to keep shifting all the other dates accordingly. Ouch. We'd spend the rest of Time just adjusting our calendars.
And even though the Millennium Bug turned out to be no big deal, the Billennium Bug could be a million times WAY worse.
